Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is a term used to describe a group of chronic conditions affecting body movement and muscle coordination.

It can be caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain and usually occurring during fetal development and the birthing process in addition to possibly occurring during infant development.

When a child has Cerebral Palsy some of the muscles in the body are not being used in a normal fashion. Children with Cerebral Palsy may not be able to walk, talk, eat, or play in the same way that other children do.

While Cerebral Palsy is not progressive, that is, the brain damage does not get worse over time, the effects of Cerebral Palsy such as muscle spasticity can get worse over time.

The lawyers of Fink & Platz will be patient and understanding in answering your questions and addressing your concerns. Our attorneys will gather all the necessary materials needed to see if your child's type of cerebral palsy was due to medical malpractice and/or negligence.
